Editor-in-Chief’s Introduction

Study:

He was born as the 8th son of Vidwan Ganapathi Kuppaiah Hegde and Mrs. Gauri Hegde in 1963 in Hegde village of KumtaTaluk, Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka state.

Early education at home village. Later in Kavalakki, Sanskrit and Vedic childhood education was from the President’s award-winning scholar Ramachandra Shastri. Later, he studied astrology at Udupi Sanskrit College under Vidwan Prof. Srinivasa Adiga. In 1987 he passed the Jyotish Vidwaduttama (M. A.) examination in the specialty category. Later studied theology under Chatuhshastra Vidwan Kota Vasudeva Somayaji at Mysore Maharaja Sanskrit College. In 1988, he passed the Dharmashastra Vidwaduttama (M. A.) examination with distinction.

In 2013, Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. A. Sripada Bhat, at Tirupati Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, he was awarded the Vidyavaridhi (Doctorate) degree for his dissertation on the topic “Tavmayajva virachitayaha Kamadogdhryakhyaya Surya siddhanta teekayaha Sampadanam Adhyayanam Cha”.

Teaching experiences:

Sanskrit Associate Teacher (Head Master) :

Served as Associate Teacher (Head Master) of Samskrita in Sri Mahaganapati Samskrita Pathashala, Hegde Village, Kumta Taluk, recognized by Directorate of Sanskrit Education, Karnataka Sanskrit University Date: 23-08-1993, Date: 31-05-2023 Retired from service.

Guest Lecturer :

Served as Guest Lecturer from 2013 to 2015 in Department of Astrology at Sri Raghavendra Bharati Saveda Sanskrit College, Subrahmanya, Honnavara, an educational institution of Sri Ramachandrapur Math

2015 to 2019 Guest Lecturer in Sanskrit language for P U second year students at Saraswati P U College, Kumta.

Resource Person:

Served as Resource Person in Pourohitya and Astrology from 2008 to 2014 in UGC

sponsored Pourohitya courses in Dr. A. V. Baliga Arts and Science College, Kumta and SDM, Honnavara.

Jyotishacharya :

Served as Jyotishacharya (Lecturer) from 1988 to 1993 at Maharshi Veda Vigyan Vishwavidyapeeth, Noida (Gautham Buddha Nagar), Uttar Pradesh and its various branches.

Director :

Served as Founder Director of a registered N. G. O., Veda Samskrita Academy, Hegde Village, Kumta Taluk, Uttarakannada Dist., Karnataka State,since its inception (2003).

Interview Committee President :

So far reviewed more than 5 theses of Vidyavaridhi (Ph. D.) of the Department of Dharmashastra, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Tirupati and acted as Chairman of the Interview Committee in the review meeting of those 5 texts.

Similarly, in review of theses of the Department of Astrology, National Sanskrit Institute, New Delhi, and as Chairman of its Interview Committee.

Preparation and Verification of Question Papers :

Preparation and evaluation of question papers for Acharya and Shastri examinations of the Department of Dharmashastra, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Tirupati.

Invigilator :

Acting as an invigilator in the Vedic Bhushan Examinations conducted by Maharshi Sandipani Veda Vidya Pratishthan at Ujjayani, Madhya Pradesh.

Experience of presenting papers in various international, national, regional seminars and workshops. Acting as the chairperson in many satras.

Periodical research paper being published :

Experience as Editor-in-Chief of bi-annual peer-reviewed national research journal named “Journal of Veda Samskrita Academy” with International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) from National Institute of Science and Information Resource (NISCAIR), New Delhi.

A total of 23 volumes have been published so far. A total of more than 750 articles have been published in them.
